Major Update 2

Ok, I haven't posted since week 9 of this labor and I am currently at week 14.5. I know, bad me!

I've been extrememly tired and somewhat sick. I haven't gotten physically sick very much but I just felt sick. I could smell everything and anything! I am actually having some cravings this time! I am currently loving ramen noodles and the Arby's turkey, bacon and cheese sandwiches.

The last doctor visit I had was a short and sweet one! The baby's heartbeat was 152 which could mean either boy or girl according to the old wive's tale. I'm measuring right on also. I did find out as well that my blood count was at 190k from my previous blood draw which made me very happy to find out, the doctor told me that at this time with my last pregnancy I was at 32k!

I am wearing maternity tops and looser tops if not maternity. I am doing the rubber band trick with my pants right now as I don't want to wear my maternity ones yet! My stomach is getting bigger!

Brad and I have yet to come up with names that we both like. I'll come up with some and he hates them and vice versa! However we do like one girl name but we haven't decided. We won't tell names until we've decided and/or we know what the sex is.

There have been a few times where I 'thought' I've felt movement but I'm not entirely sure if thats what it was. It is still pretty early but I'm hoping to feel soon! I'm not sure if there's anything else but I will try to keep on top of doing updates.

This was supposed to be week 10.

This was supposed to be week 12.

And this is week 14.5 (today) notice the big difference!!!

Major update 1

I've been a bad blogger as of late and I know it. I've been very tired, sick and busy. So I am going to do two updates, this the first of Katelyn and the second of myself and baby D.

On February 15th we made our second trip to the Children's hospital. We had found out 2 weeks prior that Katelyn had a groin hernia. I blamed it on myself on the fact that she was born with it and I felt it was my fault that I didn't do something right. Of course I came to my senses and realized that it wasn't my fault. The 15th was a hard day for us as I had to give Katelyn to a doctor and we couldn't be there with her as she cried down the hallway.

We waited for what seemed like forever to be told that she did very well with it and everything went smoothly. I was relieved but wanted to see her to be sure of it myself. When Brad and I finally saw her she was sleepy and upset. We had bought her a balloon during her surgery and she loved it. It helped her feel better. Her duckie had a bandage in the area that Katelyn also had one, it was cute.

When we brought her home she tried walking around a bit and I even had to yell at her to settle down as she tried running a few times. The next day was crazy. It was like she never even had a surgery! She was back to her normal self and playing with all her toys, chasing the cat and dog and demanding cookies!

I'm happy to report that she is doing great, her incision looks good and we are all back to running around like normal. We also had a good Valentine's Day together, nothing special - just hung out loving each other.

Here are a few recent pictures...

This last one is actually a picture of a picture. Its her 2 year shot that we just recently got. We didn't get the cd since we only got one shot.

9 weeks

I've recently been slacking on the updates and completely forgot about 8 weeks altogether! But here is the picture, it was taken at 9 weeks on Friday I just didn't get on the computer. And for all those wondering, I went to the doctor last week and he confirmed with an ultrasound that there is only 1 baby in there!!! It was fun and just great to hear the heartbeat. I love that sound. I am currently tired - all the time! I'm experiencing the feeling of nausea but not had anything happen. I hope it stays that way.

How your baby's growing:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. It's starting to look more and more human. It's essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do its tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. It's eyes are fully formed, but the eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. It has tiny earlobes, and the mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, it's poised for rapid weight gain.

Second year stats

Katelyn went to the doctor on 1.11.11. and had a good visit, well good to us. She didn't want any part of it and cried almost the entire time. She is 24 pounds and 35.5" tall. Still tall and skinny! The doctor said she looks good. She did see that Katelyn's 2 year molars are starting to surface which can probably account for her mood swings as of late!

Other stats:
-in 24 month clothes
-size 6 shoe
-size 4 diaper, however we have started potty training and its going well
-has a vast vocabulary and is making sentences
-asks 'why' for everything!
-is starting to have an opinion on things
-loves to color and 'read'
-favorite food right now are carrots
-still absolutely loves duckie!

Second birthday

Katelyn's second birthday party was on Saturday and her actual birthday was on Sunday. She had a great time with all of our families and friends. Here are pictures from her big day! We started by opening gifts. She got a lot of great clothes and books...

Her beautiful cake...it was yummy!

And she got this fun play gym from Uncle Kevin, Aunt Hilary and Jack. She loves it...so does Brad!
Playing with her new coloring tools on her new table!
The only good shot I got of her...
Thanks for all who were able to come and everyone who got her gifts!

7 weeks

I did this with my last pregnancy and loved seeing the baby develop so I wanted to continue and do it with this one as well. Pictures and information from http://www.babycenter.com/
How your baby's growing:
The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.
If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering its peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of its nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and its liver is churning out red blood cells until its bone marrow forms and takes over this role. The baby also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into its umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from its tiny body.
