On the 17th Katelyn and I went to see Laura and Josh to see what surprise they had to tell us. They happened to be at the mall showing off his pretty cool race car. They planned on using balloons to tell what the sex of their baby was and you didn't have to be very close to tell what it was! We are very happy for them and very excited as well since another girl will be joining the family! Here are some pictures from that day.

Pigtails
This weekend I've been experimenting with Katelyn's hair and I've found that I can completely pull her hair back into pigtails without any hair falling out! She looks so adorable and even loved them herself! She kept looking at herself in the mirror. When I asked if I could take her picture she had fun with it and was hamming it up for the camera. Here are the pictures from that session...
16 weeks
Here is a 16 week picture and the information.
How your baby's growing:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double its weight and add inches to its length. Right now, it's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. Its legs are much more developed, its head is more erect than it has been, and its eyes have moved closer to the front of its head. Its ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of its scalp has begun, though its locks aren't recognizable yet. It's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, its heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

15 weeks
I did take this shot on Friday at 15 weeks but my camera died and I just haven't gotten to the computer until now to do the update. So here is the picture and info...
How your baby's growing:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). It's busy moving amniotic fluid through it's nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in it's lungs begin to develop. It's legs are growing longer than it's arms now, and it can move all of it's joints and limbs. Although the eyelids are still fused shut, it can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, it's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but it is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

Major Update 2
Ok, I haven't posted since week 9 of this labor and I am currently at week 14.5. I know, bad me!
I've been extrememly tired and somewhat sick. I haven't gotten physically sick very much but I just felt sick. I could smell everything and anything! I am actually having some cravings this time! I am currently loving ramen noodles and the Arby's turkey, bacon and cheese sandwiches.
The last doctor visit I had was a short and sweet one! The baby's heartbeat was 152 which could mean either boy or girl according to the old wive's tale. I'm measuring right on also. I did find out as well that my blood count was at 190k from my previous blood draw which made me very happy to find out, the doctor told me that at this time with my last pregnancy I was at 32k!
I am wearing maternity tops and looser tops if not maternity. I am doing the rubber band trick with my pants right now as I don't want to wear my maternity ones yet! My stomach is getting bigger!
Brad and I have yet to come up with names that we both like. I'll come up with some and he hates them and vice versa! However we do like one girl name but we haven't decided. We won't tell names until we've decided and/or we know what the sex is.
There have been a few times where I 'thought' I've felt movement but I'm not entirely sure if thats what it was. It is still pretty early but I'm hoping to feel soon! I'm not sure if there's anything else but I will try to keep on top of doing updates.

This was supposed to be week 10.
Major update 1
I've been a bad blogger as of late and I know it. I've been very tired, sick and busy. So I am going to do two updates, this the first of Katelyn and the second of myself and baby D.
On February 15th we made our second trip to the Children's hospital. We had found out 2 weeks prior that Katelyn had a groin hernia. I blamed it on myself on the fact that she was born with it and I felt it was my fault that I didn't do something right. Of course I came to my senses and realized that it wasn't my fault. The 15th was a hard day for us as I had to give Katelyn to a doctor and we couldn't be there with her as she cried down the hallway.
We waited for what seemed like forever to be told that she did very well with it and everything went smoothly. I was relieved but wanted to see her to be sure of it myself. When Brad and I finally saw her she was sleepy and upset. We had bought her a balloon during her surgery and she loved it. It helped her feel better. Her duckie had a bandage in the area that Katelyn also had one, it was cute.
When we brought her home she tried walking around a bit and I even had to yell at her to settle down as she tried running a few times. The next day was crazy. It was like she never even had a surgery! She was back to her normal self and playing with all her toys, chasing the cat and dog and demanding cookies!
I'm happy to report that she is doing great, her incision looks good and we are all back to running around like normal. We also had a good Valentine's Day together, nothing special - just hung out loving each other.
