adventures in prunes

Since the peas were so unsuccessful we decided to try prunes. They went over really well. She liked them and proceeded to eat the whole jar! We will finish the week out with prunes and start some more fruit later, but I hope to try peas again in the future!

adventures in peas

Katelyn tried peas last night and it was a big fat fail! She did not like them at all. She would immediately spit them out and then gag. I plan on trying one more time tonight but if I get the same results I will either start sweet potatoes or go back to green beans.

6 month pictures

Here are some images from her 6 month photo shoot. These were scanned in since we didn't get the cd this time, so they aren't as clear as usual. But they turned out great! I love them! Katelyn did a fantastic job and smiled for each picture. Which is your favorite??

adventures in carrots

Yesterday we started carrots. To my surprise she enjoyed them! She actually ate the whole thing, well minus what was all over her mouth and a little she spit out. At one point she started doing raspberries and I had to shield myself! After that she took about 5 ounces of formula also. My little piggy! She seems to be getting used to these new textures which is great.

We also noticed yesterday that in the time she got her first tooth she also got her second, they must've come in right after the other. Now I'm just waiting for the tops to come in.

Here are some new shots.
Waiting for dinner.

adventures in green beans

Last night was Katelyn's first time trying a veggie, so I decided to start with green beans. The book I'm reading suggested to start with formula to wet the appetite and then start with the solid. So I did this and went in with the first spoonful. The reaction was priceless! She had that eww bitter face. I couldn't help but laugh, which caused her to smile, which caused some of the green beans to spill back out. I did manage a few spoonfuls, some ended up on her and some in her mouth. I consider it a success because the book said that she wouldn't end up eating very much the first week anyways. So we ended with the bottle because Katelyn got so frustrated and almost started to cry. She was happy when it was over! Little does she know green beans will be for this whole week!!!

I didn't quite capture the ew face!

Yuck mommy!

Is it over yet?!

Ah, the good stuff!

Dr. Appt. Update

We just got back from Katelyn's appointment and she is doing great! She was 27 1/2 inches long (95th percentile), 16 pounds (50th percetile), and got some more shots. She did well only crying for a minute. She is good to go swimming now! Also, she will be starting veggies and fruits this week. I can't wait to see her reaction to new foods!!! I'm not looking forward to the diaper changes though!

Tonight we're going for her 6 month pictures at Sears portrait, I hope they turn out well.
