my little girl is loved by all

Most of you know that I coach cross country for the junior high and high school. Technically I'm the assistant for high school and head coach for the junior high. Well last night was a dinner for the high school and so Katelyn and I pretty much decided that we wanted to go. So about 6:15 we got ready, I put her in her new winter coat for the first time (which is big!) and off we went. The team has met Katelyn a few times but it was always rather quick, well this time they were able to talk to her and some them held her. I love hearing them dote on her, one of the girls called her a Gerber baby! She even gave a few of them smiles. When we left my practicing waving goodbye with her finally paid off and she did it for some of the girls which made me so happy! She's such a good little girl!

In other news, the new carseat was installed last night and I will get to try it out for the first time tonight. Hopefully I will get a few pictures! Katelyn is saying 'thanks daddy' (as is my arm and shoulder)!!!

Brandi's baby shower

On Sunday we went to Grandma Grimes' to attend Brandi's baby shower, unfortunately Jace was still in the hospital so we couldn't meet him yet, but he is getting better - yay! Katelyn and I had such a great time. She was such a good little girl. She met Taelan again (last picture) and this time seemed more interested! She would watch Kyan and Gavin playing, loved the balloons and playing with Aunt Tammy's bracelet. I'm glad we got to see the family.

9 month pictures

These were taken from the Sears website so they aren't that great, but I couldn't wait to post them. Katelyn would not smile at all for us nor would she sit still! She would sit for a few minutes then something would catch her eye and she would crawl towards it. We also tried everything we could think of to get her to smile but nothing worked. Oh well. We got some good serious shots. The finished pictures will look much better. I forgot to mention, she did start smiling, after we were finished! The little stinker!

9 months

Here are some pictures I took last night and I will try to take a 9 month shot today. We actually go to Sears Portrait tonight to get her official 9 month pictures. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Last time we did pictures she wasn't crawling yet so I hope she will sit still!

chompers!

Since Katelyn can pull herself up and stand holding onto her crib, thats almost always how we find her when we get her after a nap. Well I noticed the other day that she has been using the side railing of her crib as a teether. I should have known that this was going to happen but never thought about it. She's added a few more since then but I hope that it remains minimal since this will also be her toddler bed. Hopefully she doesn't go after the front rail as it will be a part of her full size base board to her bed.

9 month check-up

Today was Katelyn's 9 month doctor visit. She is doing very well with the exception of a cough and runny nose, we had to get a nasal decongestant. Anyway, she is 29 inches long - still in the 90 to 95% and was 18# 8oz which put her at 50%. She's a good eater and even better sleeper! The doctor said she was doing great. Because she is getting bigger and not to mention longer, I think we may upgrade to a convertible carseat. This way I won't have to lug the other one around, I'm convinced it's what is hurting my shoulders! We've pretty much picked one out, I've done a lot of research! I'm going to go with the Graco brand because what we have now has held up so well. It's called the Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Carseat. When I get the chance I will add a picture of it. Hopefully I will order it in the next few days.

Congrats!!!

Brad, Katelyn and I want to congratulate Brandi and Eddie Palmer on the birth of their son Jace Brown Palmer tonight. From what I've heard, he was 5lbs and 8 oz. We hope the new family are happy and healthy!
