31 weeks

How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

31 weeks, I've begun the countdown to the arrival of Mitch! 9 (or less) weeks to go! We finally got the nightstand to finish up Mitch's room and hopefully I can get that out of the box and into the room soon. I'll take pictures when that gets in. Nothing much more exciting has happened. He's a very active baby though! I'm looking forward to the 4th of July weekend as I've taken off a few extra days to have a nice loooong weekend! It'll be fun with Katelyn. Speaking of, she is stalling in the potty training and we are having a hard time with her. She won't tell us when she wants to go and will go in her diaper. Its frustrating. Hopefully for our sake she will take to it soon. Here are a few pictures of her below...she always wants hers taken when I do my belly shot, then when I go to do it she does a funny pose!

Happy Father's Day

Katelyn and I want to wish Brad a happy father's day, as well as both grandpa's. Katelyn got her daddy a mug with pictures like the above on it as well as a gift card to Cabela's. He loved them both!

Congrats!

We want to congratulate my cousin Mallori and her husband Scott on the birth of their little boy yesterday. We can't wait to meet Lincoln!

30 weeks

How your baby's growing:
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

30 weeks, wow. I can't believe how fast its gone by, and that in ten short weeks (hopefully shorter!) we will be meeting Mitch for the first time. Soon I will start washing all of the clothes and other items to prepare. It seems unreal! But I feel him constantly kicking everyday so I know it is real! I cannot wait.

I also can't wait for Katelyn to meet Mitch. She will be a great big sister. I am actually trying to find her a baby doll that she can have that has a bottle and seems life like, but the ones I've seen at walmart are just to creepy! I'll have to keep looking. Here are a few shots of her because she wanted her picture taken while I was doing my belly shot! She's so silly!

29 weeks

How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day. (My camera died so no belly pic today).

After the events that played out yesterday I completely forgot to do my 29 week post. I had a long day at work and then as I was leaving the parking lot realized that I had a flat tire. That was an experience! Thankfully I had a co-worker graciously stop and help me by doing everything for me!!! I thanked him a million times as he was doing it too. So I had a slow drive to get Katelyn who had a good day at Cathy's. Once at home Grandma D stopped by and gave Katelyn and Mitch some new clothes. We are very grateful and loved them. After she left the rain came. And the lightning and thunder. Boy was it loud! Thankfully Katelyn isn't afraid of it. After she was in bed our power went out and was so for about an hour and a half. So our house was lit up with candles for awhile! It was actually kind of nice, candles and quiet.

Today Kevin, Hillary and the fun Jack are coming to town to play and Katelyn is super excited, as usual to play with Jack. The two of them together are so great to watch. It makes me impatient for Mitch, but I know I can wait.

HP

So its no secret that I am a Harry Potter fan. I'm looking forward to the final film that comes out in July and cannot wait to see how it ends. I found this video online and wanted to share it with anyone/everyone who is a fan as well. The characters from the films are to describe their experience with the Harry Potter franchise in one word. I think Emma Watson and Rupert Grint's are the best

Update

Yesterday I went to the doctor for a routine 28 week check. They told me that I passed my glucola test with flying colors. You are supposed to be under 130 and mine was 92. I was very happy about that as I would not want to be one of the unlucky pregnant women who has gestational diabetes. I also found out that my platelet count keeps rising the farther along I get. 6 weeks or so ago I was at 190k and yesterday they told me that at my last appointment it was 216k. I was ecstatic. They told me that everything is looking great and that I am doing well.

I am starting to get swollen feet however and am not liking it one bit! I just have to remember to keep them up when I get home, but that isn't the easiest thing with a 2 1/2 year old running all over the place!! Katelyn is loving mommy's belly and will constantly lift up my shirt to kiss it or feel it. She 'knows' that Mitch is in mommy's belly. She is such a sweet little girl and will make an awesome big sister.

28 weeks - third tri

How your baby's growing:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Mitch's room

So my plan tonight was simply to decorate Mitch's room with the decals that we had bought. It was as easy as the instructions made it out to be, not to mention if I changed my mind I could quickly remove and place it the way I wanted. It turned out great and looks really cute. Plus if we wanted we could change it up every once in awhile. Katelyn saw it before bedtime and of course wanted to check out all the new 'stickers!'. She had to touch each one!

I also took some time and rearranged the closet since Brad was able to add shelving to it. It was fun to see all the clothes on hangers, plus I can see what I don't or do still need.
