adventures in prunes
Since the peas were so unsuccessful we decided to try prunes. They went over really well. She liked them and proceeded to eat the whole jar! We will finish the week out with prunes and start some more fruit later, but I hope to try peas again in the future!

adventures in carrots
Yesterday we started carrots. To my surprise she enjoyed them! She actually ate the whole thing, well minus what was all over her mouth and a little she spit out. At one point she started doing raspberries and I had to shield myself! After that she took about 5 ounces of formula also. My little piggy! She seems to be getting used to these new textures which is great.
We also noticed yesterday that in the time she got her first tooth she also got her second, they must've come in right after the other. Now I'm just waiting for the tops to come in.
Here are some new shots.

adventures in green beans
Last night was Katelyn's first time trying a veggie, so I decided to start with green beans. The book I'm reading suggested to start with formula to wet the appetite and then start with the solid. So I did this and went in with the first spoonful. The reaction was priceless! She had that eww bitter face. I couldn't help but laugh, which caused her to smile, which caused some of the green beans to spill back out. I did manage a few spoonfuls, some ended up on her and some in her mouth. I consider it a success because the book said that she wouldn't end up eating very much the first week anyways. So we ended with the bottle because Katelyn got so frustrated and almost started to cry. She was happy when it was over! Little does she know green beans will be for this whole week!!!

Whitney's wedding
Whitney's wedding was just in time for the rain to stop! It turned out really pretty and she was beautiful. It was fun and they had a photo booth that everyone enjoyed as well as a candy table!
On a side note, Katelyn started sitting all by herself unassisted. Uncle Kevin is with her in this shot. She will be crawling soon, I just know it!

Dr. Appt. Update
We just got back from Katelyn's appointment and she is doing great! She was 27 1/2 inches long (95th percentile), 16 pounds (50th percetile), and got some more shots. She did well only crying for a minute. She is good to go swimming now! Also, she will be starting veggies and fruits this week. I can't wait to see her reaction to new foods!!! I'm not looking forward to the diaper changes though!
Tonight we're going for her 6 month pictures at Sears portrait, I hope they turn out well.

6 months
Yesterday Katelyn was 6 months. Halfway to a year old, but I don't want to think about that already! She has an appointment later today for her 6 month check up so I will update later. Also, we are going back to Sears portrait to get a 6 month picture taken! I hope she does well for that, she does love the camera!
This shot was taken while Katelyn was napping, apparently she had leaned forward and fell asleep that way. I did put her back after this picture!

Vegas baby!
Last week was our Vegas trip and we had a great time. We took a ton of pictures which will be below so prepare yourself! During the trip we gambled, walked, ate, walked, did some sightseeing, walked, went to Kevin & Hillary's wedding, walked, went to a show, walked, and gambled some more! It was pretty hot, staying in the 100+ temps. I am happy to say that I lost 7 pounds! Hopefully it'll stay off! Katelyn did pretty good, she cried on the plane only when she was tired and would fight it. We were able to pass her among us to help calm her down. She had a pretty hard time during our stay though because she had started teething. Her first tooth is coming in on the bottom. She took to a pacifier for relief. She's such a cutie pie and caught everyone's eye getting a lot of compliments. Ok, here are some of the many pictures...
